The spring show of 3- to 5-inch, somewhat flattened floral heads of Spiraea fritschiana is attractive. And the rugged look of this small shrub in summer is very pleasing. But it really becomes a favorite at the nursery in autumn when the large notched leaves turn sumptuous golden yellow with burgundy and red highlights.
Late spring to early summer. 3 ft. x 3 ft.
