This is apparently the form of the species found in China and introduced to Europe in the 1850's. The leaves of Spiraea japonica var. fortuneiare are larger than S. japonica. The autumn show is lovely, burgundy leaves turning crimson at their tips. Midsummer. 5 ft. x 5 ft. Pink flowers Sun, Part Shade Zones 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 |
