This arrived as an unidentified shrub. Suddenly as autumn set in, the branches were covered in stunning, rounded, purple-red fruit. We quickly set about identifying it. In late summer this mid-sized shrub is decked out in small white bell-shaped flowers. But it is in the autumn that Symphoricarpos orbiculatus becomes a berried treasure for the garden.
