This mounding thyme forms a showy shrublet. Early in the season, if you look carefully, you can see that the leaf stems of Thymus 'Doone Valley' are red purple, beautifully complementing the yellow green leaves. Later, during the growing season, the evergreen leaves are darker and flecked with yellow spots. In addition, the small, lance-shaped leaves are very aromatic and may be used for culinary purposes. Plant this along your sunny garden paths for easy access for harvesting and for the joy of running your hands over the fragrant leaves.
