Local customers frequently ask for evergreen climbers. Trachelospermum jasminoides is one that we can reliably recommend for Pacific Northwest gardens. Once this woody climber is established, we have found it to be easy to grow and not overly demanding of water. Its large dark green leaves are the perfect backdrop to display its clusters of white, very fragrant flowers which bloom at the ends of both the terminal and axillary stems. The leaves are rounded and thick to the touch.
