Triteleia hyacynthina, often listed as Brodiaea hyacynthina, grows in vernally wet meadows in the Columbia River Gorge. Masses of somewhat flattened flowerheads rise up above the native grasses creating a dazzling visual sweep. Individual umbels are composed of up to 20 small cupped flowers. The basal foliage is linear in shape. Once the high heat of summer arrives, this bulb goes dormant.
