Verbena rigida is one of the South American verbenas which are characterized by rounded corymbs of flowers on upright stems. Although often grown as an annual, Vebena rigida is perennial in milder climates. Because its tuberous roots wander modestly through the garden, it forms an attractive colony and is ideal for a pollinator garden or meadow planting. Its narrow, toothed foliage, measuring up to 3 inches long, is stalkless and rough to the touch.
