Doublefile Viburnum, with their arching branches lined with double rows of lace-cap flowers, are some of the most easily recognized and popular medium to large shrubs that we grow. There are two features that make Viburnum plicatum f. tomentosum 'Pink Beauty' especially appealing. One, it is generally smaller and more compact than many of the other Doublefile forms. And, the color of its lace-cap flowers is pink, not white. They begin pale pink and grow darker as they age. The attractive, pleated leaves are often tinted bronze when they are young. In the autumn, they turn purple red. Thanks to David and Dorothy Rodal for sharing this plant and their image with us.
