The Joy Creek landscape gardening team designs, renovates , installs and maintains gardens for our customers. Our staff designers work with clients to create outdoor living spaces that complement their interests and life styles.
We offer the following services: Education As part of our Sunday workshop series, we include classes on various aspects of garden design and maintenance. Most of our workshops are free and open to the public. Garden Design and Installation Our main focus is the design and installation of new gardens and renovation of existing gardens. Among the services we offer are path work, terrace and wall work, soil retention, irrigation, drainage, water features, soil development, and the acquisition and installation of plants. Design (Only) While designing, renovating and installing gardens is our principal focus, we do offer design only services on a case by case basis. About Our Designer: Staff designer Bruce Hegna: Bruce was raised on a farm in west-central Minnesota and from an early age loved plants and gardening. He pursued a degree in horticulture at the University of Minnesota in St. Paul. A catalyst for moving to the Pacific Northwest was the fantastic diversity of plants that could be grown here in the milder climate. Through the years Bruce has worked in varying horticulture-related fields including floral design, interior plant maintenance and visual merchandising for a well-respected retail nursery. He then pursued the landscape design program at Portland Community College and created his own firm Nature/Nurture Landscape Design to help clients more fully enjoy their surroundings through total yard designs or updates to existing plantings.
